Marilyn (Perley) Hinz

Marilyn (Perley) Hinz

Marilyn Marie (Perley) Hinz of rural Newton, 65, went to be with the Lord on Thursday (Nov. 26, 2009) at Newton Medical Center.

She was born June 24, 1944, to John and Bonnie (Sellers) Perley in Moberly, Mo.  They relocated to Newton when Marilyn was a young child.  She graduated from newton High School in 1962.  She married Carney Lee Hinz on July 14, 1962.  They resided in rural Newton her entire life.

Marilyn was a homemaker for a number of years until her daughters were all in school.  Marilyn then went to work at Wheat State Manor as a CNA and med-aide.  She later went to work at Bethel Deaconess Hospital as a CNA and a physical therapy assistant.  She finished her time with Newton Medical Center at the desk of the Physical Therapy Department; she retired after more than 25 years of service.

Marilyn's focus throughout her life was her family.  She and Carney attended every ball game, concert and school activity of their daughters' and then continued their support at those events for their grandchildren.  She enjoyed attending sporting events, movies and evenings out with her "Girl's Night out" group, Scrabble and most of all spending time with her girls, grandkids and great-grandson.

Her family attended Whitewater Center Church for many years and later attended Potwin Christian Church where she was a member.  Marilyn was a good and faithful servant who loved the Lord.  Her kindness and generosity touched many.

Survivors included her husband, Carney of rural Newton; father, John Perley of North Newton; brother, Michael Perley of rural Newton sister, Michelle Solomon (Joe) of Newton; daughters, Carla Ryan (Pat) of Whitewater, Cathy Willis (Mark) of Newton and Callie Hill (Mike) of Whitewater; grandchildren, Scott Ryan, Erica Nantkes, Carly and Matt Willis and Mikayla and Mikinzie Hill; great-grandson, Peyton; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Mae Perley, and two nephews, Eddie Hinz and Jeremy Solomon.
